Opening Times
The ranges are available to hire subject to availability on
Monday's, Tuesday's, Thursday's, Friday's and Saturday's
Between the hours of 10:00am - 16:00pm
Range Fees
50 Metre Range
£30 per person (3 Hour Slot)
10:00am - 13:00pm
13:00pm - 16:00pm
You can arrive anytime in the slot but its best to turn up at 10:00am or 13:00pm to get the most time for your money. On your first visit to the range you will be assessed to see if you are a safe shooter.

Hire of the 100m range £30 per person (90 Minutes Range Time)

Please bring your Firearms Certificate as you will need this to sign in before using the range.
All payments are taken before you are allowed onto the range.
Permitted Calibres
The following calibres are permitted to be shot on the 50 metre range
Steel and Paper Targets(Sound Moderators Not Required)

*Please use sound moderators on all guns if possible to keep the noise down*

Range Rules
RANGE RULES
1. All firearms must always be carried with the bolt removed (where possible), action locked open and or a breach flag fitted. All firearms must be kept in their slips until you are on the firing point / shooting bench.
2.All Firearms should be treated as though they are loaded. Always have the barrel pointed in a safe direction.
3. Only load your firearm when the Range is Declared LIVE, you are seated on one of the shooting benches, everyone on site is behind the firing point and your barrel is pointed down at the ground or at the backstop. Do not load Rifles with the muzzle pointed up in the air.
4.No alcohol or drugs are not permitted on site and by signing this document you confirm you are not under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. If we have reason to believe you are under the influence of any alcohol or drugs of any kind which may affect or impair your judgement you will not be permitted to shoot, and you may be reported to the police.
5. When a firearm is not being fired always ensure the action is open, bolt removed and if possible, use a breach flag. Do not point a gun at any one regardless of whether it is loaded or not . When in transport, always make sure the firearm is stored in a gun bag/ slip.
6. Guns must only be fired from the shooting benches whilst in a seated position.
7. When a CEASE FIRE is called on the range, all firearms must be unloaded, the bolt removed or action locked open and a breach flag fitted where possible. Never fire your gun or handle any gun when somebody is down range during a cease fire.
8. Do not shoot outside the parameters of the backstop. All projectiles must strike the backstop directly after passing through your target.
9.No shooting of any wildlife.
10. Eye are Ear protection must be always worn on the Range while the Range is Live and shooting is in progress.
11.Be considerate to others make sure everyone is wearing eyes and ear protection before firing commences.
12.If a member of the public enters the Rifle Range or surrounding land, please stop shooting immediately and unload all guns. Then phone Peter on 07772721211, do not shoot until you have been told you can continue.
WHIPSNADE RIFLE RANGE COMMANDS
“RANGE LIVE” All persons must be behind the fenced firing line and the gate must be shut. Everyone on the range must put their eye and ear protection on. The range can then become live, and shooting may begin.
“CEASE FIRE” A cease fire may be called by anyone at any time. All guns must then be unloaded and proved clear. Bolts should be removed and actions pinned open and chamber flags used. Once all guns have been cleared all persons must not touch any guns and must step away from the firing point. The range gate may then be opened, and targets may be changed.
“STOP STOP STOP” To be used in an emergency if someone walks on to the Range or land or any other circumstance that makes shooting unsafe. All firearms must be immediately unloaded, proved clear and bolts removed actions pinned back and chamber flags fitted.
